The summer flounder action continues to be good throughout the mid-Atlantic region, according to all of our reports. Anglers are landing plenty of flatties from Raritan Bay to the Delaware Coast, with many of the traditional hotspots producing. According to Phil Sr. at the Tackle Box in Hazlet, anglers are catching fluke at the TC Buoy; the folks at Crabby's Bait & Tackle said that Raritan Bay is also producing flatties at Reach Channel and around the sailboats in Keyport Harbor. Further South, fishing the inlets should do the job, as will fishing in around 30 to 40 feet of water. Delaware Bay is seeing the major channel edges producing the good size flatties as well. The summer fishing is hot for flounder, but there are also stripers being taken, particularly at the Shrewsbury Rocks, where chunking is producing linesiders. Weakfish have yet to make their appearance in Raritan Bay, but they are being taken further south. Bluefish are all over and once you find them, you're in. Croakers are also now being caught in Delaware Bay. It looks like the summer fishing is doing well, so get out there and fish. |
