South Jersey Fishing Report: Big Flatties Abound

Captain Jeremy aboard the Stalker contacted us and said that flounder fishing continues to be great out front in the deepwater.  They had to fish the bay 2 days because of the weather, but still had their share of fun and keepers.

He said that they have been fishing depths of 70-100 feet, with a water temp of 71 degrees. They had rough conditions out front, so they fished the bay with Tom Wills, Vince and their group, along with Babe, and Eddie.  Most of the day, they had wind against tide. Still they caught a few fish even with the tough conditions. Once the tide went the other way the bite turned on for them. They put 15 keepers in the box with ton of other shorts. Most fish were around 19 inches. Gulp and meat were key.

Jeremy also fished  with John Syzmanik and family. They fought the bumpy conditions for fine fluke. They boated a ton of short fish and boxed 15 keeper fluke to over 6 pounds. They also fishined with Len Capone, Babe, and Tim Thomson, and his group. The drift was fast most of the day. However, they did catch fish every single drift. They landed over 80 fluke total with 17 keepers to 26 inches. They also had some small sea bass, and dropped a bunch of nice fish. He said that the fishing is very good right now, so get out there and fish.
